Groove Runs DEEP

The SoulMates are a powerhouse trio blending funk, soul, and undeniable chemistry. Made up of Rob Lane (guitar, vocals), Scotty Bryan (drums, vocals), and Tiffany Cherry White (keys, synth bass, vocals), the band brings decades of musical camaraderie to every stage they play.

Rob and Scotty first crossed paths in 2008 while bartending at Atlanta’s legendary Five Spot. In 2010, Rob co-created Atlanta Funk Society with bassist Kevin Scott (Gov't Mule, Col. Bruce Hampton). Scotty joined shortly after, and in 2015, Tiffany came on board to complete the trifecta of funk.

In 2014, the three were also part of Secondhand Swagger, which evolved into Wren & the Wravens, fronted by Atlanta vocalist Abby Wren. Though the group quietly dissolved during the pandemic, Rob, Scotty, and Tiffany found themselves reconnecting musically as a trio post-lockdown for a few low-key restaurant gigs.

The spark was still there. They’ve been playing, refining, and building their signature sound ever since. Their sound? A blend inspired by icons like Chaka Khan, Steely Dan, the Isley Brothers, Bob Marley, and Teddy Pendergrass, with their own unique spin on modern tunes from artists like Radiohead, Portishead, and CeeLo Green.

Their live shows are loud, funky, and full of joy.  Built to get people up, moving, and feeling good. The energy is high, the pocket is deep, and the vibe is always right.

They call themselves The SoulMates. Simply put, they’re mates with soul.
